States Once Again Have to Wait
According to Virgin Records the Spice Girls album will be released on November 21 in the states not November 7, which was reported earlier.
Knackered Spice
Mel C has a message for her Spice Girl pal Victoria Beckham... you can keep your pressure-cooker lifestyle.
Sporty Spice has revealed she almost suffered a breakdown during her new solo career.
And Mel has admitted she doesn't know how Posh Spice copes with the constant attention.
"I wouldn't want Victoria's life. I don't know how she handles the fame," she said. "I'm happy to be famous, but I don't want it to hinder my life. I have so much respect for Victoria. I think all the criticism of her and David Beckham has actually made them stronger as a couple."
Mel C's new single, I Turn To You, should shoot to No. 1 in the new charts. It's the latest track from her impressive debut solo album, Northern Star.
She's only had 10 days off in the past two years. And Mel nearly burned herself out while launching her solo career. She said: "I'd been on tour with The Spice Girls, then we made our movie, then I immediately began my solo career. I flew straight to America to record Northern Star. I thought I could go on forever but I couldn't. I was exhausted and burnt out. My body just said, 'See you mate, I need some time off'."
Mel's now recovered and she'll play her first Scottish solo gigs at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow on September 9 and Aberdeen Music Hall on September 10.
She recently hit the headlines when she went on holiday with a female friend. But Mel - who has dated Jason Brown from Five - slammed reports that's she gay.
Mel said: "The questions about my sexuality have got on my nerves. People have said I'm gay for a long time. I've got a lot of gay fans and friends ... I didn't want them to think I was deceiving them.
"It's because I've not gone public about my boyfriends. I've got short hair. I'm a bit muscular. So some people make stupid assumptions. Even if I was gay what does it matter? My records will still sound as good."
And tattooed Mel C has also revealed she wants to turn herself into a real-life art gallery. She has eight designs on her body and is planning to make it nine soon.
"I got my first tattoo in Los Angeles in 1996 and it became a bit of an addiction," said Mel. I got another, then another and it hasn't stopped yet. It's painful at the time. But I've got a strong pain threshold. How far will it go? Who knows. But I'm on standby for another."
One Mel of an Album
Mel B insists her debut solo album, Hot, is not an R&B affair, despite the fact that she's worked with heavyweights such as Sisqo and Rodney Jerkins. It includes the singles I Want You Back and the most recent Tell Me, but there's no sign of Word Up (would that have something to do with it's Number 14 chart position we wonder). Other tracks to look out for include Feels So Good and the poppiest track on the album by Mel's own admission, Lullaby, surely written with daughter Phoenix in mind. She tells worldpop there's also the somewhat controversially titled Pack Your Shit. What will Spice Girls fans make of that?
She also confesses to worldpop that singing harmonies with the other three Spice Girls on their new album was much easier than recording tracks for her solo material. 'We still have that thing where I sing a line, Vic sings a line and Em sings a line, which makes life so much easier!' she says. 'I'm like, 'Oh you sing that note cos it's too hard for me!' Ha-hah!'
She explains that the third Spice album is a move on from the previous platinum-selling releases. 'It's a bit more grown-up and mature and a hell of a lot stronger, vocally and lyrically,' the Scary one assures us. 'We've worked with Rodney Jerkins quite a lot who's done some great stuff with Destiny's Child. He gives the album an R&B flava but the four of us give it that pop element.'
Meanwhile, Mel's video for Tell Me is set to be a winner with Spice fans. The British-born director, Nigel Dick, who discusses the promo on his official website has directed over 220 music videos including Baby, One More Time and Wonderwall, recalls the shoot last month at Dartford Power Station on the Thames Estuary..
'We've been shooting Mel B here for two days and it's been so cold (in the middle of July) that I had to borrow her green, furry, camouflage jacket to keep warm,' he says. 'Of course the need for thermal underwear and hot soup throughout the shoot didn't stop me from making her writhe around on a bed of fur in her undies just for the camera.'
Nigel also declares that so-called Scary Spice is anything but scary. 'She's tough, resilient, frank and enormously sexy, well worth the transatlantic trip.'
Mel's solo single, Tell Me, is released 4 September with her solo album, Hot, out a month later on 2 October.
On the Spice front, the girls release the double A-side single Holler Holler/Keep The Faith at the end of October with the album to follow on 6 November.
Beckham Bunnies
Victoria and Becks are considering stripping off to appear in Playboy.
Ibiza is buzzing with the news that the couple have been offered £200,000 by the top men's mag to pose stark naked.
David and Victoria - who will perform her new single Out Of Your Mind in the island's Eden club tonight - met Playboy executives in Los Angeles to discuss the proposal.
Two weeks later, the execs wrote back with their offer.
Posh and Becks have been promised a say in who takes the pictures and how much flesh they show.
The pair would be the second couple to strip off for the mag. Hollywood stars Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson posed together ten years ago.
Now it seems a Playboy shoot is the cool thing to do. Caprice, Naomi Campbell, Kim Basinger, Farah Fawcett and Cindy Crawford have all appeared.
A pal said: "Victoria and David are taking the offer very seriously and are really flattered.
"But it's important to Victoria that she has full control. Playboy said they could cover their bits however they liked."
Victoria has also revealed how she stays so skinny - she gets plenty of sex! Posh says it's Becks' fault because she can't stop making love to him.
Her confession came after she was boldly asked: "Are you so thin because you shag all day." Posh replied: "Yes, actually. And I bet you would too if you were married to David Beckham."

Tell Us Mel B
Spice Girl Mel B has denied that her forthcoming solo single, 'Tell Me', is her attempt at revenge on ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar.
During the song Mel accuses the 31-year-old dancer of being greedy and inadequate. The lyrics include the lines: "All you loved was Mel B's money" and "I didn't see that you could never be the type of man to meet my needs."
The singer is insisting she isn't bitter and public revenge was not her goal. She told women's magazine 'Cosmopolitan': "It's just my way of putting that part of my life to bed. I went through an emotional battering and I've come out of it feeling stronger than ever."
Mel doesn't regret her
marriage to Gulzar because the couple share a beautiful daughter
Phoenix Chi. She said: "Phoenix sees her daddy at weekends
and loves him to bits. I wouldn't take that from her."
'Tell Me' hits the shops on September 18th and is followed by
Mel's solo album 'Hot' on October 2nd.
Mel B and Geri End Feud?
Possible Rumor
Mel B and ex-Spice Geri Halliwell have ended their feud - after meeting in a Jacuzzi.
Their clash of personalities led to Geri quitting the band two years ago.
But they patched things up last month after a chance meeting and a hug in the tub at Cliveden health club near their Buckinghamshire homes.
Geri was with Robbie Williams when she bumped into Mel.
A source close to Geri has told the Sun: "It's the first time they have met since Geri walked out - it was an emotional moment. We're all pleased they've buried the hatchet."
Meanwhile, Posh Spice will have use of a £2.5million yacht and three limos in Ibiza this weekend. She and Dane Bowers perform at Eden on Saturday at a party for Dave Pearce's Nu Life label.
Victoria Knows Something
Victoria claimed Geri Halliwell's romance with Robbie Williams was just a publicity stunt.
Victoria Beckham said the holiday fling between the pair was created by spin doctors to ensure Robbie's single, Rock DJ, shot to the top of the charts this week.
The celebrity couple's heavily publicised trip to St Tropez also coincided with the paperback release of former Spice Girl Geri's autobiography, If Only.
Posh also hit out at Robbie for using shock tactics in the video for his new single in which he appears to strip off his flesh.
In a bitchy jibe, she said: "It's probably been done to get it banned and get attention. It's like bringing an album out and saying b****cks all the way through it. Sometimes it can be fun to do things like that. Sometimes it can be a boring. Same with these people who all of a sudden start a new relationship the week their single comes out. I'm glad I'm out of all of that. I'm surprised people fall for it. But if Geri and Robbie are happy together, I'm really happy for them."
Meanwhile, Victoria releases her own single, Out Of Your Mind, on Monday with True- steppers and Dane Bowers.
And the new Spice Girls album is to be released in November.
It took more than 14 months to record but Victoria said: "I wouldn't say it was the hardest album we have done so far because my own album is probably the hardest. We've taken our time with it. The reason it's taken so long is that we've all wanted to do our own thing as well. It's a really great album and we're very proud of it. It's a bit more of a mature sound but that's natural as two of us have had babies and we've all grown up a lot."
She added: "My personal favourite is a song called If You Want To Have Some Fun. It's quite swingbeat, very summery. But it still has that Spice Girls feel to it."
Victoria Speaks To Dotmusic
Victoria Beckham spoke exclusively to dotmusic Tuesday about the making of the new Spice Girls album.
Posh Spice was interviewed in preparation for this Friday's webchat with Dotmusic when she will be answering questions alongside Dane Bowers.
As we confirmed earlier today, the third Spice album, their first for three years, will be released in the UK on November 6th.
Victoria explained the 'mature sound' of the album and why it had taken 14 months to make. However, she admitted that her own solo album had proved to be even more strenuous.
'I wouldn't say it was the hardest album we have done so far because my own album is probably the hardest. We've taken our time with it. The reason its taken so long is that we've all wanted to do our own thing as well.
'It's a really great album and we're very proud of it. It's a bit more of a mature sound but that's natural as two of us have had babies and we've all grown up a lot,' said Victoria.
She also revealed what her favourite track was. 'My personal favourite is a song called 'If You Want To Have Some Fun'. It's quite swingbeat, very summery and it's very 'up there'. But it still has that Spice Girls feel to it'.
Victoria and Dane will be on dotmusic at 1pm on Friday (BST) and Posh promised the chat would be a no-holds-barred inquest.
'I'll answer questions about anything - anything anyone wants to know - whether it be personal or about my music.
'I do like to talk a lot about the music because sometimes it can be a bit frustrating when people only want to talk about my private life, but I'm up for answering questions about that as well.
'I'm also up for answering Spice Girls questions, anything really - there's nothing I won't answer!'

No More Marriages For Mel B
Mel B has vowed never to marry again. Scary Spice and her Surinam-born husband Jimmy Gulzar separated in January although she has now said the duo actually split "a long time ago really".
Since then Mel has been dating handsome actor Max Beesley.
Now the singer has said she has no plans to ever tie the knot again. And even if she does, it will only be by having first signed a pre-nuptial agreement.
Mel told London radio station Capital FM: "No, I know you should never say never but I'd either sign a pre-nuptial before I got married or I just wouldn't get married.
"If you've got money then it is a sensible way of doing things even though it's not very nice."
Mel, 25, admitted the experience with dancer Gulzar was the reason for her cynical attitude. "It has put me off getting married again," she confessed.
Victoria Pops Out
Victoria was star attraction at G.A.Y. night in London where her plunging gold basque revealed a peek of nipple.
Later her trademark pout broke into an enormous grin as she showed off a colourful Chinese dragon stick-on tattoo on her left arm.
Victoria had arrived at the event on Saturday night in a slit mini-skirt highlighting her gorgeous legs.
She was clutching a Shih-Tzu dog called Gizmo and borrowed a lead from the event's host Jeremy Joseph to walk the pooch around the club.
The 26-year-old star was accompanied by sister Louise, former Another Level singer Dane Bowers and his girlfriend Jordan after a meal at a London restaurant.
Posh was following in the footsteps of Kylie Minogue and Geri Halliwell by appearing at the cult night at the Astoria in the West End.
She and Dane came on stage at 2am to mime to their new single Out Of Your Mind, despite criticism for not singing live at the recent Party In The Park concert.
Posh was politely received by the G.A.Y. night's packed audience of 5,000 scantily-clad men.
They reserved their biggest response for her husband David Beckham.
They went wild with delight when Becks appeared on a giant video screen to apologise for not being at the gig.
He was playing in the Manchester United side that lost 3-1 to Bayern Munich.
Yesterday Posh performed at a Radio One roadshow in Middlesbrough and again treated fans to a glimpse of her nipples.
This time both poked out through a slitted leather top.
Victoria's New Tatoo
Victoria Beckham gave fans two for the price of one at the live premiere of her new single on Saturday.
First was an amazing dragon tattoo on her left arm - only temporary, she assured us - and an extraordinary all-gold outfit of bustier, tight trousers and boots.
"My feet were killing me and I was going to change shoes, but I wanted to wear something a bit camp for the audience," she said.
Second was a surprise video message beamed out to the adoring male throng from husband David.
The soccer ace, on duty for Man United in Germany, apologised for not being at G.A.Y at the London Astoria for the big night and said how much he missed his missus.
Vic told us later: "It's nice that he did the video introduction for me. I found it very reassuring because I was dead nervous."
Posh Spice looked stunning as she performed her new single, Out Of Your Mind, a duet with Dane Bowers. She even performed it twice, such was the audience demand.
We later joined in her celebrations at Emporium, where we toasted her success with champagne - Cristal, of course.
Cliff Spice
Victoria stunned 60,000 fans yesterday when she unveiled a new makeover that made her look a dead ringer for Sir Cliff Richard.
Victoria Beckham swept her hair into a quiff and pulled on a red leather catsuit, but she was no living doll.
As she belted out her first solo single, Out of Your Mind, at Radio 1's One Big Sunday, fans seemed to be more interested in her decision to look like Sir Cliff at his 70s best.
And Posh's slashed catsuit revealed more than she bargained for when it gaped open at the chest during the show in Middlesbrough's Stewart Park.
A Radio 1 spokesman said: "Her husband, David Beckham, was on the guest list but couldn't make it, which was perhaps just as well.
"She wore a beautiful leather catsuit with a slash right across the front. But, unfortunately, her energetic performance allowed people to see one or two things they perhaps shouldn't have."
Britain's gay community, who recently voted Victoria their favourite Spice Girl, might not be as keen on her latest look.
The owner of Britain's most famous gay club revealed last week that homosexuals love Posh because she is a fashion junkie who leads a lavish life.
After she and hubby David partied at the Blue Boy gay club in St Tropez last week, Jeremy Joseph, promoter of London's massive G.A.Y night, said Victoria was more of a gay icon than Sporty Spice Mel C, who has consistently quashed speculation about her own sexuality.
Joseph said: "All the Spices have a huge gay following, but Victoria is top of the list.
"She is without doubt the biggest media star in Britain. Posh may be one of those people you either love or hate, but the gay audience adore her.
"Posh knows how to sell herself. I really admire her because everyone was saying she couldn't sing, but now she is proving everyone wrong with her solo single."
Other acts on yesterday's One Big Sunday bill included Billie Piper, Precious and M J Cole, as well as Radio 1 DJs Jamie Theakston and Chris Moyles.
A Radio 1 spokesman said: "The One Big Sunday events have replaced the traditional summer roadshows we used to have and they have proved even more popular.
"The crowd at Middlesbrough had a brilliant time."

No Regrets From Mel B
Mel B has opened her heart for the first time about her split from ex-hubby Jimmy Gulzar and declared: I have no regrets.
Millionaire Mel, who until now has stayed tight-lipped about her marriage collapse, says they are on speaking terms for the sake of their baby daughter Phoenix Chi.
The singer, who this week shows off her awesome shoulder dragon tattoo to lucky News of the World readers, said of her former relationship: I dont regret anything.
"I certainly dont regret getting married to Jim because Ive got a beautiful daughter and Ive learned a lot.
At the end of the day hes father of my child. That will never go away and were on speaking terms because of it. I fell in love with him and I had a child with him. I got married to him.
Emotional
What am I going to do? Turn around and say I hate you? Turn around and say to my daughter: I hate your dad? I would never do that. Im a parent and Ive got responsibility. My daughter loves her daddy and will always love her daddy. I always want it to be like that.
Mels long-awaited debut album Hot, due out in October, includes a special song dedicated to 18-month-old Phoenix Chi, seen here with mum and dad Jim, called Lullaby.
I love my daughtershes the happiest Ive ever seen her, said Mel. She sees her dad and gets the best of both worlds. Its not an ideal set-up. But, you know, s*** happens.
On her brilliant new single Tell Me, out on September 18, Mel lets off some steam about her ex-husband.
She explained: When I wrote it I was very emotional, very unhappy and very upset.
It was like: Im not going to be the fool anymore. Im going to make myself happynot just for my sake but for my daughter.
Last week Mel was rumoured to have split from actor and musician Max Beesley, who she has been dating for six months.
Reports linked her to footie star Stan Collymore and TV presenter Richard Blackwood.
Phone
But a source close to Mel insisted: Shes bang in love with Max. Hes away filming at the moment and theyre always on the phone. How can anyone think theyre not seeing each other when theyre in constant contact?
Mel said: Max is a lovely person, very down-to-earth. Hes a northern guy and Im a northern bird.
Lucky Max! Mel looks fantastic in this exclusive picture.
She admitted: The tattoo was a bit painful but I really wanted it done. Its a great piece of art and I wanted some of that.
Now shes ready to storm the charts with her new album and third Spice Girls LP, due out in November.
Talking to Sky magazine, out on Wednesday, she revealed: The album is a bit more grown-up and its going to have deeper lyrics. It will be spicy.
Its still very girls on top and the Spice Girls will last forever.
Emma's Brave Faces
Spice Girl Emma Bunton has put smiles on the faces of three children by presenting them with a new bravery award.
Baby Spice was at London's Savoy Hotel to hand Genotropin Achiever of the Year Awards to youngsters Marita Hing, seven, from Slough, Tom Mann, 11, from Liverpool, and 13-year-old Sophie Hancock, from Bolton.
All three children were nominated for the accolade - which rewards the courage and determination of children who undergo growth hormone treatment - by their regular hospital nurses.
After meeting Emma the youngsters are heading for a turn on The London Eye, before taking in the Millennium Dome.
Victoria's Worst Fear
Victoria's debut solo single is called Out Of Your Mind - and she seems to be going out of hers with worry.
Mrs Beckham fears rival dance act Spiller will stop her hitting No1.
She has begged record bosses to re-schedule the release of Spiller's superb Ibiza anthem Groovejet (If This Ain't Love). Victoria wasn't best pleased when she discovered the track was being released by the Spice Girls' record label Virgin/EMI.
It comes out on the same day as her single with Another Level's Dane Bowers on the Arista label.
But Posh is trying to call in a favour with a bit of Girl Power and has asked Virgin/EMI to put Spiller's release back a week.
Posh has been pulling out all the stops with a tour of radio stations, kids' TV programmes and magazines in Britain ahead of D-Day.
But meanwhile, Spiller has been letting his music do the talking.
Radio One and, more importantly, Ibiza DJs have fallen in love with Spiller's groovy tune. A staggering 300,000 copies of the single are being pressed - that's 100,000 more than Posh's.
A record label insider at Virgin/EMI tells me: "She called and said if we didn't put the Spiller single back a week she would not be happy. "She's says she's a Spice Girl and allowances should be made.
"It's very difficult because the Spice Girls have a huge influence at Virgin - everyone's scratching their heads wondering what to do.

Victoria Warns Geri
Victoria Beckham yesterday warned ex-Spice pal Geri Halliwell to be wary of new boyfriend Robbie Williams - saying: "He loves HIMSELF."
Posh Spice said she cannot understand why her former girl band colleague is dating the randy ex-Take That singer.
And she added: "I hope Geri knows what she's doing."
Posh, 26, spoke out as serial loverboy Robbie, 26, and Geri, 28 on Sunday, cavorted like teenagers on holiday in St Tropez, South of France.
The Spice Girls turned their back on Robbie after he dumped another one of the group, Sporty Mel C, after a brief romance three years ago.
Posh told The Sun in an exclusive interview yesterday: "I don't know whether it's love but I know he loves himself. What's it all about?
"I know he's got a new single out though - not that he needs the publicity. I can't believe it.
"I'm sure they'll be talking a lot about therapy together. I just hope she knows what she's doing."
The Sun revealed Robbie and the former Ginger Spice were madly in love on Tuesday - and we published the first pictures of the pair frolicking by a pool at their rented private villa.
Yesterday Geri wore a skimpy red bikini to show off her slimline figure and a tattoo on her back. Robbie's tattoos were also on display as he chain-smoked on the beach.
She lovingly climbed on his shoulders for a piggy-back ride to a dinghy. Then the couple chatted on a jetty and gazed into each other's eyes.
They are planning an intimate dinner for Geri's birthday on Sunday. Posh's warning to Geri came just before she took to the air on London dance radio station Kiss 100 FM.
She hit out at reports she had GAINED weight, revealing: "I'm exactly the same weight as I was six months ago - seven and a half stone. I can't win, can I?"
Posh was joined on the show by former Another Level star Dane Bowers who features on her new single Out Of Your Mind.
And she was stunned when husband David Beckham called from Germany, where he is on a tour with Manchester United. Becks went on air and when Dane asked the England star what he did for a living, he joked: "I'm a plumber."

Get Ready For More Spice
Spice Girls fans, circle November 7 on your calendars -- that's when the U.K. girl group's follow-up to 1997's "Spiceworld" is currently scheduled to hit stores in North America.
The group's publicist told MTV News that the LP, the Spice Girls' third and their first without Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell, is still untitled and a lead-off single has yet to be chosen for the U.S. market.
"Sporty Spice" Mel C. told the BBC's Radio One in Britain that the first single in the U.K. will be a double A-side featuring songs titled "Let Love Lead The Way" and "Holla Holla." The Spice Girl told the network that the group has also shot a video in which each member of the foursome plays one of the four elements (fire, water, air, and earth) which come together to make the world as well as the group.
Mel C. is currently doing the press rounds in the U.K. to promote her pending solo tour and the song "I Turn To You," the fourth single from her solo debut, "Northern Star."
In other Spice news, the band's spokesperson told MTV News that while "Scary Spice" Mel B. will issue her solo album, "Hot," overseas in early October, the record will not be available in the States until early next year. Mel B. recorded the album in the States with help from a number of producers and artists including Prince, Sisqo, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and Teddy Riley.
British press sources report that Mel B. is also taking on a role in a low-budget short film called "Fish." The singer plays a fish factory worker and single parent to a 14-year-old boy named Jimmy. She will be billed as Melanie Brown in the film.
Currently not on the U.S. schedule is a single by "Posh Spice" Victoria Beckham called "Out Of Your Mind," a duet with Another Level singer Dane Bowers, which is due out August 14 in England. Posh is also rumored to be preparing tracks with ex-Take That singer Gary Barlow and R&B producer Rodney Jerkins for a forthcoming solo album.
More on New Spice Girls Single
Mel C has revealed details about the forthcoming Spice Girls single due for release next month. Let Love Lead The Way and Holla Holla, the track showcased during the last Spice tour will both appear on the first single from the girls much anticipated third album.
Mel gave away secrets concerning the new video shot last month which she says clearly portrays their four very different personalities. In the video she, Mel B, Emma and Victoria play the parts of the four elements, fire, water, air and earth.
'We like the theme cos we're all so different,' Mel told BBC reporters today. 'we all come together to make the Spice Girls and the elements come together to make the earth.'
It's a busy time for the foursome right now. Along with the release of their long-awaited album reportedly titled, Third Time Around, Mel B is bringing out her debut solo album, Hot, Victoria is releasing her debut solo single with Dane Bowers Out Of Your Mind, Emma is presenting cd:uk for the next four weekends and Mel C is heading off on her worldpop-sponsored tour.
Oh That Smile!
Victoria Beckham faced down cruel critics Monday with a beaming smile that said: "I'm fine.''
The star showed off a glowing new look when she stepped out for a TV show. Gone was the slight gauntness that led to her being branded Skeletal Spice. And Victoria, 26, topped off her fuller-faced appearance with a new elfin-like hairstyle.
The singer - not at her radiant best when seen at a London club earlier this year - had been accused of resembling a poster girl for anorexics.
Even after she denied that she was suffering from the slimmers' disease, the jibes continued.
But yesterday - her figure still toned - she was in shining form on Johnny Vaughan's early-bird TV show The Big Breakfast.
Posh, wife of soccer ace David Beckham, swapped her usually serious expression for that grin. And she abandoned her Gucci and Prada fashion gear for a simple blue top and jeans.
She was promoting her new single Out Of Your Mind, a collaboration with Another Level singer Dane Bowers and dance act Truesteppers.
Her latest image emerged after experts were asked to give the Spice Girls a softer, more sophisticated appearance for a photo-shoot.
Scaly Spice
So this is what happens to pop megastars who leave it too long between record releases.
Mel B and her Spice Girl pals haven't had a single out together since Goodbye back in December 1998. Now, as my pictures show, the poor girl is up to her elbows working as a fish filleter in a factory in the north-east of England.
OK, I'm just joking - in fact Scary Spice only donned rubber wellies, apron and a plastic hair net for her role as a single mother in the new low-budget short film Fish.
The movie, shot around Tyneside, is worlds away from Mel's normal life of arena concerts and glitzy parties.
For the scenes filmed at Seaview Fisheries - or "Fishy Frank's," as it becomes in the movie, Mel had to fillet fish in a blood-spattered apron alongside people who do the job every day.
And it seems she took to it like a duck - or even a fish - to water. Seaview worker Dave Smith, from North Shields, said: "She seemed a nice lass. She came in and shouted, 'Where's me wellies?' "
And producer Deborah Hunter said: "Mel has been absolutely brilliant."
